I've been soo busy it's been hard for me to get to this board. But I just had to share what Xander did yesterday. This past week as part of his 'school' I've given him tracer pages of the letter A. He's been doing such a good job tracing the letter that I thought yesterday that we would try it without tracing. I helped him with the first one and once I stopped helping him he got really frustrated with it. I think he thought his A's had to be perfect. He got so made he started crying and stood up and went to his room slamming the door behind him. He even told me he couldn't do it. At that point I felt so bad making him do it. I wasn't even pushing him. So I just decided that I would leave it alone. He cooled off a bit and then opened his bedroom door and looked at me and said "Mommy will you help me." I told him that I would help him make one more but then I wanted him to try it by himself. I made sure he knew it didn't have to be perfect because he was his first time and he had to practice. I helped him with one more and then he did the rest all by himself. He was sooo proud of himself. And some of those A's at the end of the sheet looked pretty perfect. But all of them were good and you could tell they were A's. I was so proud of my boy.

It's so wonderful when we get to see out children "get" something!

One of my favorite things about homeschooling is actually being there with them when it happens.

Congrats to you and Xander!

That's so great that he worked through it himself. You were there to help him, but didn't let him give up. Way to go!!!
