I have started homeschooling this year with a former 7th grader and current 8th grader both on a non religious 8th grade curriculum. Can I find support and help here, or am I in the wrong place. Everyone here seems either to be experienced or have young children

Well, personally I would say for you to stay, but I love getting to know new people!
I know that there are a couple of people who post here who have older kids. As for the experience vs. inexperience, I think that both of those things can be helpful. The experienced ones can give tips because they've "been there, done that" and the inexperienced ones can sympathize with you when you have a bad day. (Well, we can all do that, actually!)
I believe that you can find support and help here, and I hope you'll stay around!

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Please stay. My daughter is in the 5th grade, so she is getting on up there. As far as being experienced, I am still a rookie. This is only our second year to homeschool.
Tell us all about yourself and hang around. You will love it here!!!

This is my first year teaching and my oldest is in 5th grade. A bit younger than yours, but he is an accelerated learner so we are using some 6th grade curriculum and 7th grade novels for reading.
I hope you stick around and find the support your looking for here. I think it helps to chat with other homeschooling moms, no matter what the age of their kids.

Are you kidding? Of course we WANT you to stay! We love to chat with new mamas that homeschool. Stick around and fill us in on your days. I bet you can also bring some new tricks here for us to learn as well.

I have a 2nd grader and a preschooler. But one day I will have 8th graders.
