I really want Hailey to keep working on her addition ( esp after today)! Well I made this with poster board and some velcro. I made the numbers and have them on circles. Then I made addition fact cards with the ansers on the back. She had fun doing this. She played it for over an hr and knows the facts she has gone through really good now!
I did something similar last year when we were learning about place value. I made a two-boxed chart, one side marked 'ones' and one side marked 'tens' with velcro dots in the middle. Then I made numbers with velcro dots on the back and would tell her "Ok, put a ____ in the ones place and a ____ in the tens place. What number does that make?" She loved it and it really helped the whole idea of place value make sense to her. She loves anything that has hands-on stuff!
