I am hoping to finally do our water cycle project. If it works, I will post it. We had it planned for last week, but with the rain I decided to wait. It is SO pretty out today. A little crisp and cool yet sunny and clear...really nice.

No, I was fresh out of fun ideas. (Poor Reilly!) She did do a couple of pages in her Social Studies book, and she thinks that's a treat, so I guess SHE thought we had a fun day! Mostly it was just covering the basics.

I'm trying to figure out some things to do to study Christopher Columbus because we're going to Columbs, Ohio a week from Sunday and we're going to see a life-sized replica of the Santa Maria while we're there. I figured it would be a good idea to "study" that a little before we went so it would make more sense while we were there. Studying Columbus Day is nowhere near as fun as studying some of the other holidays, like Thanksgiving or Christmas!

SEE! things like this make me so excited about homeschooling. you can work your lessons around trips, how great is that! i remember going on trips when school was still in session or getting suspended from school and having TONS of book work to do....now im so excited about learning our animals and going and seeing them at the zoo, going on trips to historic places, firestation feild trips..all that fun jazz!

I should have KNOWN to ask for links from The Queen!! Those are PERFECT! Thank you so mucn!!

PregoDego2, that is the FANTASTIC thing about homeschooling! I'm not even counting our week in Ohio as a week off of school because there are so many things that we're going to do that can be counted as "educational"! Columbus has a great science museum, we're going to go to the first Wendy's (a hamburger place, just in case you didn't know that! In case they don't have those nationwide!), we're taking a trip up into Amish country, plus the Santa Maria...it's going to be GREAT!!! I'm SO EXCITED!! *does happy dance*

We ended up making a life size tracing of Eli's body, cutting it out and taping someorgans, bones, and muscles onto it. It was a blast. The lungs stick out and everything!

Here are the pics:
