our town has (finally) opened a place for the skateboarders to go (after years of complaining about them being on the streets/in parking lots).

although not officially open, the new skatepark is definitely in use. and it is GREAT!! bigger than we thought it would be. we've been going for an hour or two every day since it's unofficial opening - it's only a five minute or so walk from our house and it's free. we go during school hours... it's not so busy that way. the kids just love it!! i've just been counting our time there as either 'recess' or 'phys ed'. hehe.

here are my kids enjoying the park (yeah, their boards are tiny... we've been looking for new ones, but all the stores in town are sold out since the new park opened... funny huh )

Cool! We have one nearby too, but we've never been there. You've inspired me to check it out. And during school time is a great idea, that way no one will be there to laugh at me cuz you know I'll have to get a board and try it myself!

What fun!

I'm jealous at your kids getting to wear actual WINTER clothes. The weather here is driving me nuts. Today it was 67F as a high, tomorrow it's to be 81F, and Saturday? 89! But it's still cool in the morning, so if you leave the house in long sleeves, you're fine until about noon, then you're dyin! *sigh* I love cold weather!

thanks for looking gals we managed to find one bigger board so far. so they've been taking turns with it when we go now... it's so much better than the wee little 'baby' boards.

Lisa - i love chilly weather not cold cold, but cold enough to go out in jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt and hand knit socks and sweater! if it could be like that almost all year long i'd be happy fall is the best season.

i'm not really looking forward to the winter coats and boots though, because that means wet snow pants and boots. and slush dragged into the house from the back door. and, even now that the kids are older, everyone getting all suited up in their snowsuits and then... "mom, i have to pee..."
