I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and preparing for the day. I am ready to get back on top of things. Madison has gymnastics today, so I want to get started and finish up without rushing this afternoon.
We are supposed to go on a fieldtrip Friday to a cotton museum, but I am reconsidering because of all of the school time we have missed. I guess it depends on how well we do with getting things done this week.
How is everyone this morning?

Hello. We tried something a little different today. I tried to let the kids have more of an independent study sort of day. They still did all the same subjects, but I just kind of told them what they needed to get done and it was up to them when to do what. It was okay, but I think the kids felt a bit lost without me sitting with them all day. We also met a friend for lunch in between. Overall a pretty good day.

I did things a little diffrently today too, and it went well. Quite often I have a fair bit to orginize with some of the crafts and games I have; and ds is usualy crying as he's not alowed near them. Also if I totaly don't feel motivated to get orginized we tend not to do any school. but today I decided to just grab a FIAR book (hadn't even looked at the manual) a packet of number flash cards that have dots, nubers, animals etc in the pack, and a large ABC floor puzzle. We read the book, did the puzzle and sang the alphabet song upteem times then played with the cards matching animals to there dot 'homes' it went great! I've decided to do more of this simple school with the same layout; book, ABC and number activity.

Let's see... today was pretty productive. School went extremely well.. so well I let Xander watch Between the Lions on PBS during lunch time. He pretty much caught on quickly to today's lessons. He's been writing stories... well he dictates them to me and I write them down.. I'll have to post some on my blog.
