This is a pretty controversial exhibit, but I think Matthew will learn a ton. We are going with our home school group.

Have a great time! I wanted to go to that so badly when it was in LA, but my dd was in the hospital, so my MIL and nephew went without me .

I didn't know it was contraversial; why?

Because the bodies are from China and were used without the consent of the "donors". Some people say, that although China claims the bodies were gained by legal means, that perhaps that is not the case. I don't really care, I just think it will be great for my 12 year old to see. Not just for the anatomy part, but for the general health part as well.

Awsome.
Jeff and I had cadaver anatomy at Tulane and it was amazing. There is no way that you can ever learn from a book the way you can from a real body! I think it is awsome that it is possible for people who are not in the medical field to see. I don't want to think about if the people consented or not. A body should never be used for that if the person didn't consent to it .

Don't worry, all of the cadavers used were all donated by the...um...owners of the body? lol. I think that's the law.

how was the trip?

we went to see the exhibit when it was at the Ontario Science Center a while back. my mom was NOT happy we were taking the kids to see it, but the kids were fascinated by it. my daughter was especially interested in the part of the exhibit with the fetuses and pregnant women. (so sad to me, but really really interesting to see pregnancy from that perspective).

all in all, i'm glad we went to see it while we could.
