It is trick or treat day and daddy is home and with us in the school room. Last night we decorated the school room with orange and black streamers and contruction paper halloween things. The kids came into the schoo room and their faces just lit up! They are painting pumpkins right now and we have some more things left to do as well. I was so looking forward to having a special day of school with them today.
Is anyone else doing anything neat in school today?

No, I feel kinda bad about not making it more special. The kids were complaining that they didn't get to have a costume party at school like the public school kids do. The thing is I was just sort of hoping we could just get all of our schoolwork done quickly this morning so they could have the rest of the day off for the holiday. Which is exactly what we did. We had an easy school morning, didn't start until 9:30 or so and were done by 11:15. With trick-or-treating later and a get together at a neighbor's house tonight, that seemed like enough celebrating for me. But they still complained and now I feel guilty.
