Hello everyone, I am a friend of Alison\'s and she pointed me this direction. My name is Chandra and I have 4 kiddos. Aaron my oldest is almost 13 and is in public school. Kristen is 9 and is homeschooling as of last Friday (WOOHOO). Then I have Morgan who is 4(almost 5) and Ian who is 20 months(almost). We have considered homeschooling since Kristen started kindergarten but just never went forward with it. Well, after doing preschool stuff with Morgan this year, I really started thinking about it more and then Kristen started asking again to do it. After lots of talking, Randy (hubby) agreed and we just pulled Kristen last Friday. I plan to homeschool the two little ones from the get go.....Aaron doesn\'t want to leave school so I am not pushing the issue with him. He may change his mind or he may not....either way is ok with me. So...anyway, we are new to HS but really excited about it too. I look forward to "meeting" everyone here.

and welcome to our little corner of the cyber world! I'm Lisa and my daughter, Reilly, is 6 and in first grade. My son is Declan and he's 3.5, and sometimes we do preschool work, but usually not. (He's not interested right now!) This is our second year and, while we have our tough days, we're completely happy with our choice to homeschool.

So, how's your first week going?

Hi and welcome!

I'm Jenny. I'm currently homeschooling my 3 year old who will be four in Feb. Heh... he actaully asked me to start schooling him... I swear I didn't force him. Just had to clarify because people ask me that all the time. I also have Lucas who'll be 2 at the end of this month and Aiden who's three months old. All three of them will be homeschooled.

Welcome! We have enjoyed Alison, and I know we will enjoy getting to know you.
I pulled my three children out of public school as well and have never regretted it. We are all so much happier. I hope you will be too.
I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi Chandra, welcome to the board. I have 4 kids also, they are 10, 7, 3, and 1. This is our first year homeschooling too. My 10 yr old is doing 5/6th grade and my 7 yr old is doing 2/3rd grade. I also do some preschool stuff with my 3 yr old, but since she's only 3 no real school is necessary, just lots of learning through play and of course the 1 yr old just keeps busy climbing on things and making messes all while being a cutie pie.
Do you have a curriculum plan yet or just winging it so far? Congrats btw and welcome to the world of homeschooling! Have fun!

Welcome to the board! It's a great place here. I haven't been able to be active in our local homeschool groups yet due to scheduling conflicts, but the ladies here keep me motivated.

I'm Jenn and I have 3 boys: 7, 5, & just turned 4. My oldest is doing 2nd grade work. I do pre-k type work with my younger 2 when they show interest, but they seem pretty content to just play their V-Smile games & draw. I'm fine with that. I'm going to do K next year with at least my 5 yr old, although I'm going to try to start with my 4 yr old as well. We'll have to see how it goes.
