Well, I stayed up WAY too late last night! My niece graduates (homeschool) tomorrow afternoon and then we're having a reception immediately after. I'm making the cake. I started baking cakes & putting on the base coat of frosting last night around 9pm because I don't like to work when the kids are up. It's too big a distraction. I didn't get done until 2:30am!! This is the biggest cake I've done to date, and is proving to be quite a challenge. It's a stacked cake with the bottom being a 2-layer 14" round and the top being a 2-layer 10" round. I was going to do all the decorating tonight, but I think I'm going to work on it today, even with the kids running around. I just can't stay up like that again tonight! I'll take pics and post them when I'm done. Let me just tell you ahead of time, it's not a traditional "formal" looking graduation cake. lol

Forgot to add that I not only stayed up way too late, but got up way too early! I had to get up at 6:30 to let dh in this morning (he's working nights this week).

Well that is good! Homeschooling is not about conformity, so who wants just a normal graduation cake at a homeschooling graduation? non-traditional sounds perfect! Can't wait to see the pics!
