I have a tape by Dr. Janet Smith and there is a line of hers I absolutely love. She says, "We are living in a world where Bibles can't be handed out in schools but condoms can, and I think that sums up everything you need to know about our society." So true!!

Well, think about this...

Not that it directly relates to school, but it does relate to kids. There's a huge concern lately about the amount of smoking that kids are seeing in movies and there's a push to have the ratings commission give an automatic R rating to any movie that includes even one puff on one cigarette.
Now, I don't know if any of you have seen the newest James Bond movie, but it included (among other violence) a quite graphic scene of Bond, being tortured, specifically in his "man parts". *blush* It was PG-13. Not to mention all of the sex, implied sex, and language that can be included in any given PG-13 movie. (They allow one F-bomb, and I don't know how many times they can say other inappropriate words.)

So, basically, society as a whole is worried about the physical bodies of our children, but doesn't care one bit about their minds or souls. This angers me to no end.

Very well put. I have been criticized because I restrict what my children watch, read, and listen to. What they put in their minds is just as important to me as what they put in their bodies. I would not feed them nothing but junk food to avoid the possibility of them "rebelling" later on. Neither will I allow them to feed their minds on poison.

I'd say what they put in their minds is more important. I've read accounts of one time viewing porn comes back 15, 20, 25 years later. I've read that quitting smoking is easier than giving up cussing. The body purges, but the mind hangs on tight.

Absolutely! Not to mention that experts are finding that porn is more addictive than cocaine and heroine.

And yeah I heard about this school. Makes me really want my kids attending, KWIM? Even if my kids took a couple classes at the highschool at a later age they are not about to attend any assemblies. They aren't mandatory for any kid and I would be so mad if any school claimed that any of them are. Ugh!
