She decided she wanted her leap pad word factory dvd on yesterday. She calls it her "Sticky letters" So then she asks me for paper and wants to watch it again. Then she brings me her paper and shows me the letters that she wrote and wow she not only wrote CAT and TAD but pointed them out to me! So then she wants it on twice more and says she wants to put words up all around the house. I even thought well I better make her go play outside awhile before dark what with all this dvd watching. She did but then wanted it again before bed time. Then she wrote down PIG, MET, DAD, and POP from the dvd. Here it is 7.14am next day and she was again asking for sticky letters and now she is in the lounge watching that dvd and practicing her words.
I don't know how long this change of attitude will last. (she wasn't intrested in learning to read at all before) but I am riding with it!

WOOHOO!

Yesterday I bought Eathan the Leap Frog Letter Factory. (I'm trying different learning techniques to see how he learns) Anywho, he did the same thing asking to watch it over and over. I finally got tired of hearing it over and over and turned it off and he went about a half of an hour and asked to watch it again.

I am quite sure her learning of letters is due in the main part to those dvd's. I know forming numbers and letters with her body has also helped a lot too.

WooHOOOOO! I love the Letter Factory DVD! (Thanks to all the ladies here who recommended it!) We got it from the library and in a week, Declan knew his uppercase letters and the sounds they make! Now I need to get the words one!

Go, Sarah!!

Lisa, have you seen it at all? The vowels are sticky which is why Sarah calls it the sticky letter video lol. The vowels stick to the letters to make words.

Yay!

"A, E, I, O, U. There the vowel. The very sticky letters--that stick the words together." Or something like that.

My ds watched that video today as well, but fell asleep a few minutes into it. He wake up at 4:30!!!! 4:30! Ack! We didn't have these when Belle was learning how to read, but I bought the series awhile ago for Ry. He will go for a long time without watching them at all, but then he will ask to watch one.

This is probably the same one. It says "Talking Words Factory" on the front. A small blurb says "learn how letters build words!" There is a picture of Tad, the little frog who is learning his words with the word CAT. In the corner it says pre-Reading.

I think that is the second DVD in the "series". I think they start with the letters and then go to the words. I'm definitely going to get that one too.

I hope these work...Letter Factory Word Factory

They have a game too.
