Well, we're shooting a dance recital next weekend, and I've always planned to use a chunk of that money to buy the curriculum that I need for next year. But, at the same time, I knew I wasn't going to be able to go hog wild because we do have business bills to pay with it and things like that, and we want to use some of it to travel a bit, and didn't have anything else coming in to shoot.

So....

Yesterday I got a call from an Indian lady who wants us to shoot and edit her daughters Hindu dance recital! We did one last year, although the dad did the editing, we just did the shooting. It's apparently a huge deal for the girl who is dancing because it's a solo recital, a graduation of sorts. Last year there were actually two dancers because they were twin sisters, but this year it's just one girl by herself. She's been taking for 8 years. Anyway, it was really a glimpse into another culture because the dancing is SO unique and beautiful and all the women who were there were dressed to the 9's in their gorgeous sari's. I'm excited to get to go and shoot another one!

BUT the most exciting thing is that having this other "gig" means that I CAN go hog wild when I order!! No, just kidding...it just means that I can really get what I want to get without having to stress out too much over the price tag.

YIPPEE!!!!

P.S. I should point out that I was pretty much in awe because the mom didn't bat an eye when I told her our shooting and editing price, which isn't cheap! This recital is a HUGE deal to them!

That's great! I so need to start doing some ordering!
I was asked to do one of my slideshow videos for one of the ball teams, but then the lady never made contact with me again. One year, I did over 20 teams....made enough money to buy a new computer and pay for most of our vacation . I enjoy doing it, but just don't have time with homeschooling and Carter playing ball so much. The coach asked me to do one for our team, which is no problem. I want to have it for Carter anyway .
Congratulations on your new order....that's exciting!

Heck yeah! If the studio is willling to pay for travel expenses!

I adore shooting dance recitals! I love watching kids dance and it's easy shooting and editing, so therefore it feels like really easy money!!

That's great! This is the first year where I feel like to do not have to skimp on our educational materials. It feels good, doesn't it!?

It really is going to feel good! Plus, to have everything at the beginning of the year is going to be great instead of having to ge different things at different times.
*does little happy dance*
