You ladies are so convincing that I sent out for a free demo of MUS. I am not a math person and this one worries me the most. I don't want to pass on my fears or confusion onto my kids. It looks like it is really helpful and I will most likely use it the closer she gets to school age. At this point we can just continue learning about numbers at a leisurely pace.

YAY!!!!
I was just posting on another thread about MUS and laughing at us all and thinking that an outsider would think we're all paid MUS reps or something, with as much as we go on and on about how much we love the program!

I'm TOTALLY not a math person either, and that had me worried as well. There are some aspects of MUS that make it feel like I'm not doing any work or anyhting at all. It's like she's learning by osmosis or something! And the great side effect is that MY knowledge of math facts has gotten SO MUCH BETTER!!!

They convinced me too! I am definitely not a math person so as I see it I'm gonna need all the help I can get teaching that subject. I can do math, but I HATED it as a child so I don't want to pass that on. MUS is definitely a great program!!

Me too! I'm slowly being converted. I've been watching ebay auctions for MUS stuff. :lmao:

Okay, Okay... I went ahead and ordered the demo.

The UPS guy just dropped it on my doorstep a couple of hours ago! Maya is already excited about it and asked if she could start working on it tonight!

Question for MUS users: Do you store the manips in the box they sent or do you have some other container? Seems like it would be a pain to get them all back in the box so neatly every time she uses them.

I hear the wooden boxes are really great, but so is a good tackle box. I still have mine in the original box but yes it isn't such a good way of keeping them.

I use the orginal box right now because both Noah and Declan are anal ( hummm wonder where they get that from) and want them put back exactly as they came!

We really do love MUS here. We have the wooden crates they sell but I only got them because they sell them $10 cheaper at curriculum fairs. They work nicely, but I don't think I'd pay $40 for them. I know people who use tackle boxes and it works great. I even have heard of people just dropping them in a bucket and storing them that way. Seems to work just fine for them, too.

Hee hee! Pretty soon we'll have everyone convinced to convert to MUS. It really is an awesome program though. Right now we keep our blocks in a plastic shoebox sized container that I got at Wal-Mart. Dh is supposed to build me a wooden box at some point, but he's waiting to get his planer back from his dad.
