When I made the name poll we really were still considering which name. I was very sure about Finn, but we were still debating since a few family members (my dad and Belle) HATE the name. But Noah, Ry, Belle, and I are already calling him Finn and it seems to fit. Noah, Ry, and I like it. Belle says she will call him Gabriel (the middle name). LOL. Sometimes she does call him Gabriel, but more often she calls him Finn. She is coming to the Finn-side! She is starting to get used to it. She still says she doesn't like it though because it reminds her of a fish fin. hehe.

So if baby is indeed a boy and he really looked to be at the 16 week us the name will 97% be Finn Gabriel.

If baby does end up being a girl then we don't have a name yet. I had wanted Emma with Ry, but Emma is sooooo common. I love the name, but it is #1 in the US right now I think. So now my top pick is Eden Ellyse.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Eden for a girl's name. We will probably never get to use it, though. DH isn't wild about it, and we both hate how it goes with our "must have" middle name: Gayle (Eden Gayle just sounds too much like a bird!). So I used it for my business name: EdenWay, which of course means that now I'll never be able to use it for a child.

Anyway, that's my way of saying I LOVE your top pick for a girl.

I think it is a really beautiful name and not common, but we probably will never get to use it either. Dh has always said he doesn't want more than 3 children.

I have to admit that when I first heard the name that is what I thought of as well. I own that book. It is one of my favorite novels told in 1st person! I haven't read it in ages though. I like Finn, much better than the name Huckleberry! He certainly won't be named after Huck Finn, but because I like the book it didn't sway me from the name either.

We thought about Eden but we were worried about some things you could do/say about the name. It's not appropriate so I won't mention it here. Might still use it though.. you never know!

I like Finn.. I think it's very cool and unique!

I have a friend named Eden. She goes by Ann, bc her maiden name was Cox. Lets just say her parents didn't see the teasing coming. I do love the name otherwise.

You know... you would think parents would think about what they are naming their kid before they name them when they have a last name that can make the firstname/lastname pair something like Eden Cox. My neighbor two doors down is named Woodrow Dick. He goes by Woody. What were his parents thinking?!?! Knowing Sharon's last name neither Eden nor Finn would end up problematic.

Yeah, they shouldn't be a problem with our last name. If we do use Eden though who knows what her last name may end up being when she gets married....better not be Cox!

Either I am being daft or there is some cultural thing going on because I can not figure out what is so bad about Eden Cox!

Eden = sounds like eating, Cox = sounds like the slang for penis.

Ani's name is Anastasia Sariah so we figure she can't marry a guy with a last name starting with S. Right now her initials are ASH. Much more polite than what they could be. In fact, the day she was born my friends teenage daughter realized this since their name starts with an S and were very disappointed that that meant Ani could not marry their then 7 week old brother

I love the name Finn (and Eden for a girl is beautiful as well!).

When I was pregnant with Sam I loved Oscar...but EVERYBODY put the kaibosh on that one . My pick for a girl was Emmeline...hopefully I'll still get to use it someday .
