Oh, I had sooo much FUN!! First I went to a used book store to trade off some books. I've never done this before. I had a lot of books that we never even look at anymore. She didn't even take them all, and I still got $55 credit! Soooo, with that $55 credit, I got more books! I got some "Wishbone" books: Romeo & Juliet, Robinhound Crusoe (so excited about this one), The Mutt in the Iron Muzzle, The Prince & the Pooch, and Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde; 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (children's version), Swiss Family Robinson (children's version), Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (children's version), and The Wright Brothers at Kitty Hawk. Want to guess how much I spent on them? No cash money at all! And it only used $22 of my credit!! So I still have credit to shop more later! Oh, I did get a book for me. I forgot. It's "A Woman Named Damaris" by Janette Oke.

Then I went to Hobby Lobby and got a great volcano kit for our rocks unit and a flight kit for our airplane unit. The boys are so excited. They want to do it all right now. It's going to be torture for them to have to wait. With the volcano kit, we'll get to mold & paint the volcano and then make a mix and let it erupt! It's not going to be very big, but it'll still be lots of fun! I can't wait! The flight kit includes 10 activities many of which I already had planned, but needed to gather the materials for. Well, here they are in a nice little kit. It even has instructions on making all different kinds of paper airplanes. The boys always want me to make them some paper airplanes, but I can never make them good enough to fly well. This will be so fun!

I was specifically looking for some kind of boat kit for us to put together, but all I was finding were a bunch of models with tiny parts. NOT what I want to mess with! We ended up going over to Michael's & I found a cute little wooden pirate ship that we can glue together & paint. The boys were excited about that. I also got them each a small wooden ship & a small wooden airplane that they can paint. I think I'll get Jacky to drill a hole in the tops of them after they're painted & we'll hang them from the ceiling in the boys' room.

Lastly, I went to Mardel and got a TOTALLY CUTE calendar set for our "school" room. We don't have school in here because it's too small, but this is where I have our timeline hanging & all of our books & stuff. I was really wanting something visual to teach the boys the days of the week, months, seasons, weather. This has all of it! And best of all, it has cute little frogs all over it! I love frogs! I also got a cute little bulletin board trim to go around our timeline & make it look cute and a couple of alphabet posters to hang on the wall: one manuscript & one cursive.

Now, THAT'S my kind of shopping! I hate shopping for clothes or shoes or really anything girly, but this I LOVE!
