Did it take you awhile to get into the groove of how and what to do?

We've been officially/formally homeschooling for 3 years this month. Yes, it took quite a bit of time and trial and error to find our groove.

We had a short couple of months of homeschooling a few years ago, then went back to PS at my husbands insistence. Last year was our first full year of homeschooling and it went great!

I think it fits our lifestyle so well since alot of what we do for 'School" we did before but just called it "fun." I guess that's why it seemed to go so smoothly. I learned some stuff about myself right away- like I NEED a schedule and I like curriculum guides- like the one from Sonlight. ( I didn't use any of that when we did our temporary hsing a few years ago and I felt like a fish out of water) But there are technicalities I'm still trying to work out. Like finding a good Math program for each of them- that is so tough! I really don't understand how a public school can choose just ONE program for ALL the kids there! Science too, because one of my kids is a science nut and I'm not, it's hard to find the right program for him. The other hard part for me has been figuring out how to coordinate the things I want to get done with the older ones while handing younger one's needs and wants. That is where we are still trying to find our groove. And I have no idea what next year will bring since we'll have the new baby.

We've only been officially homeschooling a few months. We haven't found our groove yet. Well, I guess we have since what are doing is working and Eathan is progressing, but I don't feel as comfortable as I would like to. My life is kind of unorganized right now, so that may have a lot to do it with it though and have nothing to do with the schooling!

We have been homeschooling for 3 years now. We have had a good time with getting things done. Our biggest obstacle was Eli just not liking to write. We did butt heads on that issue. Everything else has been good. We just took out some busy work and I started leaving out a lot of review if he really knew a concept. I also added in more science, history and art for Eli. That has really excited him and he is even writing more all on his own.

We started homeschooling after removing Robert from kindergarten... so I guess we've finished six years and are starting our seventh.

Every time I get the hang of it, we have a baby and I loose my grip!

The official answer is just this year, so 6 months. The unofficial answer is 5 1/2 years since my daughter was born as I see homeschooling more as life style choice. Things change, and things get added but it's all learning.

We've completed 1 year. Many days I feel like a fish out of water, but for the most part it's going pretty good. My kids are learning & love homeschooling so I feel like we're accomplishing something. But, yeah, still trying to find my groove.
