And for holiday breaks do you try to stick with what the public schools do?

Nope. We school year round and take breaks as needed. We do take off for federal holidays since Jamie is home those days. Like this week we did school Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday was the fourth of July and we took off Thursday and Friday as well since we're watching two of my friend's kids currently and there's no point in doing school with friends over. We'll go back Monday and have school as normal all week next week.

Nope here too. We are going to school year round and take off as needed. If that doesn't work out, we can always change it. Oh the joys of homeschooling!

We did some days off according to the public school schedule, but not all. My older kids friends are public schooled and the only way for them to see their friends during the week was to have off on those days. But we did start a month early and ended a month early. This year I'm hoping to start the first week of August, even though the PS won't start back until Sept.

This summer the older children are doing work in the core subjects six days a week and the younger kids are doing four days a week. It only takes about an hour and a half or less, so it isn't as bad as it sounds! I decided we should do this because the routine helps all of us, we really slacked off over the last year, and with a baby coming in September who the heck knows what will happen to next school year!

We school all year, taking breaks as needed. Although I do find we take days off over the school holidays because my daughters friend is available for more play dates, something we don't skip here. Also I think I tend to take a slightly more relaxed aprouch when school holidays are on, haha as if I'm not relaxed all year, it's a wonder I don't slip off my chair.

We've decided to school year round taking breaks when we feel like it. Right now, for the summer, we have school when dh is at work and take off when he's home. I haven't decided if we'll change that in the fall and go to a Monday-Friday kind of schedule or not.
As for holidays, we break according to whatever plans we've made. We don't take off for holidays like MLK, President's Day, etc. but we do for the major holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter...

I forgot to mention we also take off for all birthdays. Firstly because who wants to do school on their birthday and secondly because Jamie takes off on the kids' birthdays. So we'll be off of school on Wednesday since it's Fritz's birthday!

We started school in the middle of last August and got done the last week in May. We take off the major holidays, but not the minor ones like Prez Day and such, and we had a different week of spring break because it coordinated with my hubby's vacation. We've taken all of June off and I PLAN to start doing some math next week and continue that through July, and we'll go back sometime in August. (I've not figured out when, though, because DH is on vacation the first week in Aug.)

Oh and we also have a daddy with different work hours. Our weekend this week is Tuesday and Wednesday. We take off when daddy is home.
