Although, I've never done anything like this. What are the general guidelines that we are doing? Am I suppose to come up with a lesson or an activity or what? Then everyone is going to do everyone elses activity/lesson?

We are in, but I am still a little confused. I thought we just did some dolphin things with our kid/s then posted about it? Or do we post then every one goes and does it?

Just adding I have already found and copied a page of links in a Word document this morning.

Jo, we were going to have each mom who wanted to help, to write or plan or put together a little something. And then we would introduce a new lesson from a mom each week. We would all do the projects together and then post pictures.

Are you still in?

lol I was wondering why our names were not up there. Yes thats why I said I had a page of links put together already. What happens if we have found the same stuff? Pluss what about the age/ability diffrences of the kids. I was finding things appropriate for Sarah so my stuff is preK and K level. Do I need to find things for 1st and 2nd grade, I am not sure what others peoples kids can do.

OH Jo, I'm glad you asked I was wondering the same thing. Maybe we can start up another thread and take suggestions for general guidelines and then go from there? What do you think? I just would hate to do an activity and then someone else had already done the ground work for it. Maybe we could lay them out before hand so that we don't double work, kwim? I'm just throwing some ideas out there? I don't want this to be a lot of work and I want it to be fun, but I was just thinking. OH another thought, maybe we could split it up by subject. Each helper parent gets a subject and then does an activity with that subject....I don't know. I'm going to hush now.

Scotty wants in. I am not sure about coming up with a lesson yet. I would actually like to, this time, sit back and observe more experienced mommas. Next unit study, I will feel better about trying to help! Is this okay?

Whew...sorry...I was out turning older.

I was thinking that we don't have to do each subject. Kind of had a vision that each parent who helped would just put together as much as they wanted with all ages in mind maybe. And that they should have fun and learn while putting together their stuff.

But I am SO open to suggestions!!!!! I am open to how other moms want to do it. Tisha had some good ideas.

Ok, so what's the verdict? When do we start? I'm ready to get going. I definitely think the helpers should throw their ideas out there and then we can go from there. OH, and I'm requesting not to go first. I want to see how this goes, so I'll go close to the end or last.

Okay, so since I found a buttload of books I guess that means DS and I are in and I'm helping (I'd prefer not to say names though- DH is a stickler for internet anonymity!)

ETA: Maybe we should have a Dolphin Unit section/sticky/whatever so we can all post our stuff in one area and nobody's posts will get lost??

A sticky would probably be good... what does everyone else think?

We already know your real name Retrocutie

I can't remember if you have more than one schooler...so how many retrocutie children will be learning?

Okay...I HAVE SOME FUN THINGS! I am going to do an anatomy lesson. I am so excited. I will have a dolphin outline that the kids print out with the organs and such and they can paste them on as mom helps and teaches about each thing! SO FUN! AAAAAHHHHH! It will take me a few days though.
