Something is weird about that story. Her doctor sounds like an idiot. He says he has never misdiagnosed conjoined twins but they only occur in 1 in every 200,000 births so for him to have seen one is amazing and to have seen more than one is phenomenal. And he said there was only one baby at the 9w2d u/s and now suddenly there are 2 and they are conjoined. That is simply not possible. Babies do not split that late. The latest is about 2 weeks after conception so about 4 weeks pregnant. I hope and pray they just had a hidden twin at the earlier u/s and these babies are not conjoined at all. Either way I'd really be questioning a doctor that says twinning can occur after 9 weeks!

yes I agree. I read that and was like Huh 9 weeks! Bet he said that just to cover his @@S. Then if she brings up that 9 weeks he will probably say "No I said 9 days"

That's what I get for not reading all 4 pages!! Something is fishy there, I'm not sure what, but it's not all adding up. She seems to defend her DR and not go for a second opinion.

Bless her heart! I didn't read all the pages, but I agree I was skeptical about them splitting as late as 9 weeks! That sounds kinda odd to me. What I'm wondering is, how can they tell they're conjoined if they can't even see where they're connected? Either way, I'm praying for them.

I have to admit I was like "What?!!?" When I read that she had a normal u/s at 9 weeks 2 days showing one baby. And now this...and I did think it was weird about the never diagnosed conjoined twins too. But she said that she was going for NT testing...I don't know is she saw the same person both times. One could have been a normal doc and one could have been a specialist. I don't know. But it is strange. But I don't see how a 9 week plus old fetus could split and tada they are both measuring right on for 12 weeks 3 days and such....
