And I am very frustrated.

Last year was excellent for my 10 yo but my 8 yo fought and argued about school *every single day*. Not a day went by that school wasn't a battle.

I am getting so much negativity about homeschooling from so many sides. My husband is less than supportive. His idea of support is threatening to send them back to school if they argue with me about it
My parents! According to them I am ruining my children's lives.

I am considering k12 as it is an option to us. But I see some problems and wondering to myself, if I am just considering it to make a little peace with my parents (and it may or may not work). But that isn't the right reason either.

We like Konos pretty well. But I've got to get my kids caught up in math (a long standing problem from public school). And my 8yo fights and fights with me and doing any kind of work. We did Math U See last year.

I just don't feel like I am giving him what he needs. He has been misbehaving and I think he doesn't have enough for his busy mind to do.

Do you think he needs more structure or less structure? I can't imagine having to fight to do school everyday. Sorry things aren't going so smoothly.

I completely understand where you're coming from on frustration over curriculum! I've never heard of Oak Meadow, though. I don't usually have to fight my kids to do school, but like everyone we do have our days. Finding just the right curriculum is so hard. My dh also threatens to send them to public school if they don't want to cooperate for whatever reason. But then he takes it back because he remembers what a time we had with Jack when he was in public school. He knows that even on our bad days, this is the best option. Hang in there! I hope you find something that works for everyone soon.

I have heard of Oak Medow, but don't know much about it. I think it is more hands on then some of the more traditional programes. Some 8 year old boys hate to write, so maybe your other programe had too much writing for him. MUS has much less work to do then something like Saxon which I have read is over an hour a day. Have you tried replacing some writing with either oral work or typing?
