It's amazing the process the entire yearly planning really is. I finally sat down today with my new notebook and started writing out my yearly plans for each child/each subject. I've had all of my curiculum choices made and have spent the last three weeks ordering and getting it in, though I'm still not completly finished with it. Today I started the actually process of writing down what each one of them will do for each of the 36 weeks of the school year. This process will take quite a while, but I like it as it is the final step before I take a sigh of relief. I also have a weekly planning book, but I fill it out at the beginning of each week...it is the book that allows some flexibility.
Anyway, I am so happy that I have finally started these plans. They have really been hanging over my head. The part that will take the longest is the Science. It isn't as clear cut as just writing down page numbers.
Okay..back to work!!!

Wow! I know that's a long tough job you have ahead of you. But even as long and difficult as it can be at times, isn't it kinda fun at the same time? Enjoy it and look forward to the end result when you can sit back say "I'M DONE!"

Yes, Jenn, I enjoy it more than most people would. I like organizing things on paper.[/b]
Me too. I'm in the process right now of working on Jared & Justin's plans for this next year. I don't have their curriculum in yet, but I'm using my friend's stuff (she used the same thing last year). It has a teacher's manual with plans in it, but you kinda have to flip back & forth alot. I don't like that, so I'm re-organizing the plans and putting them in a notebook....and adding my own personal touch to some of them as I go.
Wow, your 3rd year. You're an ol' pro by now.

Yay for getting started on your plans already! That is a big task. But I know what you mean about having fun with it. I'm the same way about that kind of thing. Sitting down to write lesson plans was one of the most relaxing parts of my day. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to do much planning yet for the coming year. Maybe when my biology class is over.
