Sam needed a Nature Journal for both his nature studies at the study center as well as our home studies. I had seen awhile back an idea for decorating those black and white composition notebooks so I did one for Sam's Nature Journal! I'm not a scrapbooker so all the cute little stickers, supllies and other scrappie stuff were all new to me..but I'm really happy with how it turned out (and Sam loves it too!).

VERY cute, Jenn!!! Did you cover the whole book with paper or a book cover or what? That's just adorable and I just bought one of those books, so now I want to make one.

Thanks guys!

Tisha - First I used a lighter weight paper that I found at Michael's Craftstore by Martha Stewart (she has a whole really cute line of scrapping stuff there) to cover the binding. Then I covered the rest of the front with a piece of cardstock in the light tan color followed by the blue textured paper for the water. Then I added all the "stuff" like the letters, grass, catails, bugs, turtle, flowers and leaves. The last thing I did was add the ribbon along the edge.

Oh now that is just way too cute!! I love it! Jack is supposed to keep a nature journal this year. That's a fun idea for the notebook! Thanks for sharing it with us.

How cute! I love it too! You are so very clever! How did you think to put all those things together like that!

LOL Jo! No, not really that clever..I'm not sure what you guys have down there in Australia but here in the States scrapbooking is really popular and we have these big mega-craft stores with aisles upon aisles of papers, stickers, cut outs..pretty much everything you could imagine. The hardest part is picking what to use! I think that's why I couldn't ever seriously scrapbook..I'd spend way too much time and money in the craft store!

We have scrap booking aisles, like one aisle lol. But even so I wouldn't have thought to cover it, then use that colour card and that colour ribbon etc. The colours really go well together.
