I would like to know if anyone has an ideal of how long I should work with my kindergarten aged child. I am new to the homeschooling this year so we are in the learning process together. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I'm new too! My son is in preschool, but I picked up What Your Kindergartner Needs To Know by E.D Hirsch, Jr. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard really good things about it. I also picked up Homeschooling: The Early Years by Linda Dobson. It was an AWESOME read and I totally recommend it.

I only do sit down work with my K/1st grader about 30 minutes a day about 4-5 days a week ( we school on the weekends also when they want to)..I do sit down with my preschool/kindergartener about 10-15min a day 2-4 days a week.

Yeah 30 or so minutes a day is plenty. Really, go with your child's cues. They will let you know when they are done or if they want more.
