Hi there, just wondering if anyone has noticed the differences between Canada and the US in regards to our little one's vaccines? I was surprised to see that Hep B is given as an infant in the US.. here it is given in Grade 5. We do not have any vaccine schedule for rotovirus or HPV or Hep A, but they are Available if needed. It seems little US babies end up with more vaccinations??

Is their a website you could share with us that has the Canadian vax schedule?

I know their is atleast one vaccine available in Canada for children that isn't available here in the US.

My son & thousands of other children prove that a vaccine is needed at a younger age.

Hep B is given to infants in Canada.... it depends where you live. If not received in infancy they can get it later on and it is fewer doses.

In BC (where I am from) Hep B is on the infant schedule - and Rotavirus is an option. In Ontario, Hep B is given in 7th Grade. I haven't seen Alberta's schedule but from what you say it is different as well.

Looks like this newer Schedule has also added HPV as routine in Alberta now... I guess the schedules are more similar than I thought!

Thanks for sharing the links! I appreciate it!

Yea, the vaccine I was talking about that Canada gives at 12mos is the "Men-C" conjugate & on one schedule it's give at 2mos as well. I was just curious to see if that was still on the list, that vaccine isn't availble in the US for under the age of two, and even still it's only give to "high risk" children. Which IMO, every child is at risk for because it's so deadly if they do get it. It's the vaccine for what my son died from.

Thanks again!
