Wow. I wonder when that's hitting the US. The US has Infanrix which is single antigen DTaP. Infanrix Hexa is a combo vaccine that offers DTaP, IPV, and Hep B, which are all in Pediarix and then it throws Hib in there as well. Currently I'm balancing my vaccine orders and providers get Pediarix + Hib OR Pentacel (DTaP, IPV, Hib) + Hep B. To have one that meets all the needs would be wonderful.
What I'm curious about is the Hib component. Currently, we have ActHib (Sanofi Pasteur) and Pedvax (Merck). Infanrix is a GlaxoSmithKline brand, so are they now producing Hib?!? And will it be comparable to ActHib or Pedvax? ActHib is contraindicated for Native American children, so I'm hoping it's more like Pedvax.
