Our newest addition will be here on October 12th.

Will I get the swine flu vaccine because I'm pregnant, or is it being administered after I have the baby? If I do get it, will it make the baby immune as well?

If the baby isn't immune, should she get it even though she will be a few days/weeks old? Can she even get it yet?

My older daughter will be 18 months by then. Can/should she get it?

All opinions and information welcome.

Thank you!

I ready very briefly that their are different groups of people getting vaccinated first. I believe babies under 6mos & pregnant women are first to get the vaccine. I'm not sure about baby being immune if you get the vaccine, you'd probably have to ask your doctor about that one.

My son will be 10mos old then & I will be asking his ped about if we should be getting the vaccine.

My 3yr old son Landan died 23hrs after being diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis. It is a potentially vaccine preventable disease. The vaccine isn't on the schedule until 11-12yrs but is approved for use at age 2yrs. Our second son received the vaccine in December 2010 when he was 2yrs old. My son & thousands of other children prove that a vaccine is needed at a younger age.
