Hi Guys,

I've never been on this board before but I have a question that I was hoping some of you may be able to shed some light on!

My son will be 18months & is scheduled for his 18mth chickenpox vaccination next month. From what I've read, the vaccination is a live virus and can cause a mildcase of chickenpox in some babies. I've also read that chickenpox is dangerous to pregnant women in the first & second trimester.

I will be 6 weeks pregnant tommorrow, and I have never had chickenpox or been vaccinated against it. Do you think I should think about delaying his vaccinations incase of him getting it, and passing it to me or am I being totally paranoid?

Thanks! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Personally, I'm not sure. I would probably check with your OB first.

Ask your OB. My OB was totally against my kids getting the H1N1 mist b/c it's a live virus but my pediatrician said that the chances of you getting sick from it are so very, very, very slim.

Just ask your OB and your pediatrician first and see what they say.
