We missed this one but if it had been around last year we would have jumped on it! My older two were carriers...they gave it not once but 4 times to me, dh and anyone who cared for them. The plus was that I lost 30lbs in a year.

Hi! Lurking around in here...

We got it for Nathaniel. The doctor asked if we wanted it. I of course had never heard of it, and one of the things she said was if Nathaniel was never going to be in daycare (which is the plan right now) then it wasn't too necessary. However, then the nurses came in and gave it to him! Whatever. I don't think it can hurt, right?

It is oral, and of the vaccines, Nathaniel didn't care about that one. It was the shots that he freaked out about...

We chose to give this to Ally at her 2 month appointment, along with her other vaccinations. Her Pediatrician explained to us just how horrible rotavirus can be. All of the studies I've found on this oral vaccine are positive!

Some doctor's aren't offering it yet because not all insurance companies are on board at this point. Ours is one. They don't cover it *yet* but we elected to pay for it ourselves. $70 each time, 3 times, but I felt it was worth it. And the nurse said if she didn't get it at 2 months she couldn't get it at all.
