They have now developed a new vacine which will eliminate 80% of sinus infections and ear infections! I hope my kids can still get it

I know that the prevnar shot was also a shot to prevent ear infections....However it didnt go over very well with Amber-Rae (my now 6 year old)..She got one shot and was very sick afterwards so she never got the other 2. Im always afraid when they come out with new stuff....It makes me feel like our kids are guinea pigs first! Im sure this one I will be staying away from.

I don't have a link (it was in our local paper).

I know what you mean stacey but with katelyns ears I would be willing to be a guinea pig if it would prevent more hearing loss.

I heard our kids are too old for it already.. by the time it comes out it will be for the newer babies.. since ear infections greatly reduce by the age 2 or 3

Okay...blonde me....its called prevnar and it was out a couple of years ago (unless the one I read about is different - although they sound like they do the same thing). My twins got it and Katelyn got it last year and just got her booster today.

I'm definitely curious about this one and to see when it is given to kids... With so many peds going to tubes in ears so quickly, I'm hoping this works so we can avoid that!

LOL...Your sooo blonde

This is the shot I mentioned above....It was new when Amber-Rae got it and again, the first shot didnt agree with her so she didnt get the other 2 with it. I believe its only good until they are 3 or 4 years old. I was afraid to give it to Alyssa because of Amber-Rae but Alyssa got it and she had no problems with the shot!
