What do you think? We're TTC again. I work part time at a hospital. I don't work with patients but I'm in close contact with plenty of co-workers.
I just don't think it's a good idea to be putting mercury into my body before I get pregnant. But then I do worry about getting the flu.
I called my OBGYN and the health people at work to ask if either knew where I could get a thimerosol free version but neither knew where I could get one. I knew that would be a long shot anyway because they are supposed to be for pregnant women and I'm not pregnant.
I never got one while TTC or pregnant, but I have gotten it while nursing both this year and three years ago--they gave me the same as my kids would get .. all 7 & Under.
I guess the biggest thing would be weighing the odds...What is worse chancing the flu this season or chancing exposing your fetus to mercury? Maybe you could wait and AF appears get the shot that week, if AF does not come then I guess you would qualify forthimerosol free version if you can find it.
