Hi ladies
I have a question for you, My dd (9 almost 10) grade 5, is in school (was homeschooled till grade 3), in grade 5 they give Hep B shots here (I think 3 shots spread over period of time). tomorrow they have a nurse coming to school to talk about shots (not sure if in general or just this one), the nurse knows that my DD is not allowed to get any shots, my DD knows she is not getting any, but dd doesnt know details why not etc.
I was just thinking if some adults get bullied into giving the vaccines to their kids, I am worried my DD will get scared if she doesnt get this shot after this nurse tells them all the "scary stuff" if they dont get it??? I am not sure if I should pull her out of school tomorrow????

I'd probably pull her out of class for tomorrow and then maybe have a sit down with her about why she's not vaccinated etc. so that next time she can assert herself if need be.

I'd probably pull her out or ask that they give her an alternate place to be. It might just be easier and less hassle to pull her for the day! I'd be scared they'd "goof up" or something. While dd knows she isn't to get one....things can be misconstrued and she might get the impression you told them something different...if you catch my drift.

You might take the day to give her information on the Hep B shot and why you are choosing to NOT have her get it...so that if she's asked why by her peers she has an answer....or so that she can begin to understand the stand against vaccines.

Just an idea

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

thanks ladies, I was so "freaked" out (she told me about this tonight LOL), so I told her a lot about vaccines and Hep. B vaccine tonight (not sure how to explain sexually transmitted thing to a 9 year old who wasnt officially taught about sex and I am fairly positive doesnt know much if anything about sex, nothing from us, school doesnt teach anything about sex up to now, not sure what she heard from kids) . I will pull her out tomorrow for about an hour while nurse is there (this is only talk, not the actual vaccinations, those are coming later on), giving them a reason that we dont follow main stream medicine and I dont want my DD listening to a nurse or a doctor for that matter without parents being present (I wouldnt send DD to a doctor's office by herself to listen to dr. or nurse so why would I let her do this in school? grrrrrrrrrrrrrr) if they want to bring in naturopath or homeopath I will be more willing to let her stay lol.

hmm so I didnt get to talk to my dd's teacher, but to the nurse and front desk lady, they said they will make sure DD isnt in the classroom while nurse is there, she will stay in the office, so we will see! I am sure they will try, but I dont want them to forget.

It really annoys me that I have to deal with this though. What the heck makes them think it is OK to bring nurse to school and talk to the kids without parents present at this age! I bet they think I am the wacko mother that always wants something different than the "NORM" ROFLOL. (and it is hard for me to do all this because I am really shy and hate confrontations LOL)

GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I agree....I wouldn't want that either....The squeaky wheel gets the grease....keep complaining and being assertive in what you want...so they CANNOT forget
