Hi mommas, I need some quick help!! I have a WIC appt. tomorrow at 2pm in TN. I havent been to a WIC office in over 5 years. With my last baby (he's 6) we vaccinated unfortunately, so I always took shot records.

Nolan is almost 9mo. and has never received a single vaccination. I know that legally they cant MAKE you vaccinate to give you WIC since its based on income and age of child, but are they going to hassle me? My state has religious, and medical exemptions. Do I need to elaborate on my reasons or just keep it short and sweet? Do I need to go with the religious part? Do I need a signed paper to claim religious?

Thanks so much!!

So, should I just say, "Its against our religious beliefs to give any vaccinations" or something? No proof or anything is needed? I keep reading about some type of signed paper or something I need to exclude from it, is this just talking about for school? Because that part does not matter to me, I homeschool all my children so we will never "need" any of the vaccinations to comply with the state.

I wouldn't say anything, it's really none of their business. They can't deny you for not vaccinating and when they ask you (if they ask you) for the shot record just say you don't have one, end of story. Keep it short and sweet. Good luck!

How did it go?

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

Sorry, I forgot to update!

It went OK. It's torture going there and now I remember why I havent been in 6 years, lol. They of course asked for it when I was signing in, I explained I dont have a shot record for you, but I do have the Mother's Copy...she said Ok. Then when we were in the room they wanted to check his iron. I dont see how its any of their business what his iron level is, so I declined that too under religious reasons. Again I was asked by the nurse who weighed him if he was up to date on shots. When I said no, she asked where I would be getting them done at and I told her I wouldnt. She asked if it was religous, I said yes and she made a note of it on his chart. That was basically it! It went better than expected.

He has an appointment with his new Ped tomorrow, who is supposed to be anti vax (or atleast wont kick us out for refusing) so I'm really excited. I will make a post about that.
