Should I start looking into homebirth? We are wanting to TTC starting in June. By that time I want to have someone chosen. So far I have only found two advertising Midwives. One has 10 years of experience and the other is just starting out. I read about the woman just starting out, and I was in tears just reading about how she works during the birth! She described an experience I long for. She said her typical monthly visit lasts an hour, and we get to know each other and talk about fears and desires about the birth. The other woman seems more set in her ways, but that was only based on her website.

I was thinking I'd start looking after the holidays, which would probably be February by the time things settle down! Is that early enough or too early?

I'm really excited about this concept, if you can't tell! I think I'm ready to have a baby right now, just because I'm excited about the idea of a better birth experience!

I think your plan is great....Starting early is a great plan...so when you get the BFP you are all set!

Nothing wrong with someone just starting out....if you interview them fully you'll know if they are capable. Know that before you can become a CPM there is a LOT of training and a LOT of assisting in births...so just cause she's just starting out on her own she's no where near "novice"....

They gotta start somewhere! I say go with the one that has your style...interview them...see if they STILL are your style...then go from there...
Momma to Emma, Elzie, Gretchen, Olive, and Rogan

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.
