We denied both of these at birth for my DD but if we have a boy this time, I've been told the Vit K shot is def recommended due to clotting etc and I'm okay with that. But I was wondering if the Hep B shot is needed for circumcising? DD got her Hep B @ 2 months, i think it was, due to DH insisting and guilt tripping me (he's not on board for delaying/selecting vaxes and does not do research or anything and just takes the drs word for it, so..) and I'd like to do the same for this baby. So is Hep B needed @ birth if circumcising?

We circ'd our son and got neither. We did oral vitamin K and waited a week to have it done in the office. We were not told to give him drops each day so we had more bleeding than we should have. He was fine but even that would have been better if he was receiving vitamin K each day. As for Hep there is no reason that is needed.

Hep B is a sexually transmitted disease or from needle sharing or tainted blood transfusions. There is absolutely no reason to get this at birth unless your LO is going to be at a high risk, which we hope not!
