Has anyone read this? I'm contemplating ordering it, but some of the reviews are bad. I'm sure they are pro-vaxers, who possibly haven't even read the book, but I wanted to check here to see if it is recommended Any other recommendations? I want to get Sherri Tenpenny's book, but I only have a $27 credit and really shouldn't be spending any money, so it will have to wait!
I am getting this book, Vaccine Safety Manual for Concerned Families and Health Practitioners, 2nd Edition: Guide to Immunization Risks and Protection - Neil Z. Miller; Paperback, but I'd like to get another as well, so I can get free shipping!
I love this book.....she does talk a lot about homeopathy alternatives which some people will take or leave....I think the reviews I read were mostly that...that they didn't like that part of it. But I LOVED her overview of the diseases and such....It's not a very expensive book...I'm happy with it...I reference it when my kids have fevers (it's one of the anxiety relievers when they get sick that I dive into LOL)....
I had ordered the one you are getting but it became unavailable when I did so I ended up not getting it but it's on my list on future orders. Or maybe it was "what your doc may not tell you about childhood vaccinations" that I had ordered?? Anyway....I think that I'll order them after the new year maybe?
Anyway...all that to say...I definitely am happy to have this book on *my* shelf

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.
I just placed my order and was able to get the Neil Miller book as well as Raising a Vaccine Free Child. I have the other book you mentioned and I found it very easy to read. It is the book DH is reading too. I read reviews on it, and some claimed that the author was more pro-vax, but honestly I saw it more as she was saying here are the recommended vaccines, but you only need them if you have xyz, but if you have xyz, then you shouldn't be vaccinated. If that makes any sense! Anyways, I thought it was a good book, and definitely would recommend it!
Its pretty good, as she explains things in plain English and she shares her experiences nursing her children through each of the diseases. I like that she doesn't downplay the diseases, but doesn't make them out to be random killers, either. Some of her research is a bit iffy, but for the most part she is right on.
I had to stop reading the book when she said acupuncture can cause you to get Hep B. I am an acupuncturist and this INFURIATED me. Standard practice for the last 30+ years has been to use presterilized single use needles. If she was that errant in that statement, I was not sure I could read the rest of the book If I can find it, I'd sell it to ya! LOL
that would make me upset too...especially if that was my profession....if you are using someone respectable then it's a non issue...I guess there would be a time to worry if you are using someone dodgy...lol....but how many people are actually dodgy when it comes to acupuncture.
I guess for me it wasn't a "oh let me sit and read this book cover to cover"....It was....a look up what I wanted to know more about and read it.....LOL...I think I have the what your doc may not tell you....It HAS to been a different one that wasn't available...but I can't remember it now
ETA: I REMEMBER it was that one that I wanted and couldn't get at the time....I have raising your child in spite of your doctor....WHEW>..glad I got that straightened out lol
