Hey all, new to this board and to the idea of possibly not vaccinating. I am in the process of reading up on things and figuring out what i feel is best to do. i am definitely at least delaying it for a bit until i feel secure in my decision. My son, Kai, is 9wks today. he has is 2month appt friday. I have just been very apprehensive and nervous about his vaccinations coming up. I think I would at least be ok with waiting until he is a toddler at least! but with the whooping cough outbreak i am so afraid he will catch that and be very ill when i could have prevented it, however of the vaccines, pertussis is the one i fear the most! so its lose lose for me! Anyhow, glad this board is here and i hope to figure out my plan of action for my lil man and to feel good about what i decide.

welcome to CNTV

I have a 2.5 and almost-1yo who are unvax'd. Like you I was going to delay until toddlerhood but the longer I delayed and the more I read the better I felt about just not doing any at all.

I was going to delay until 6 months...then a year...and not I'm not going to vax at all! LOL...

I think it's great that you are looking into it all before you go to your appointment. I just like to warn people that are going to the doctor for the first time after making their decision that it MIGHT not go pretty. The doctor we had at the time we chose was NOT supportive and tried to scare me into vaccinating. She used the whooping cough outbreak as a scare tactic...she told me that babies die from whooping cough and that I would be putting my child at risk of DEATH...and so on....I was NOT amused or swayed...it just made me all the more determined to make a decision on what to do and when.

Anyway...I didn't think a doctor would do that and I know others who have had the same experience but then were swayed into doing it anyway....I had been reading and researching for a while before I went to the doctor so THAT helped....but you just need to have the confidence behind you that if that doctor doesn't fit your needs there are others out there that will.

HUGS...it's a hard decision to make and stick to...but once you do you WONT be sorry. For one thing...you can ALWAYS catch up on vaccines...but you cannot undo them....

WELCOME to the CNTV board! We ae so happy you came!

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

Welcome! I stopped vaxing my oldest at 12 months (he had some severe reactions) and hadn't planned on vaxing my younger children at all, but I am now in the selective and extremely delayed camp. I don't plan on having ds1 vaxed any further at this point, dd will get her first vax at her 3-year appointment, and ds2 will also be delayed until at least age 2.
