Resisting the flu?

Has it hit your home? Was it caused by the actual virus or someone getting the shot (I know some of us in here have spouses in military and other jobs that require it)?

How did you get over it?

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

We're good so far. A lot of people at work have had colds and some have had stomach bugs, but nothing here yet. Luckily I've been able to nurse Maddie twice a day, once from each side, so I am feeling better about her immune system. I'm really hoping I can continue for a while....just not sure how long my milk will last.

Well, I'm not doing very so good, as I got a horrible flu the week after Christmas! However, I survived (imagine that) and so far, none of my 3 kids have gotten it. They have never had a flu shot, so I was kind of amazed that they didn't get it. This flu seemed to be really contagious too. There were 36 people at my sisters for Christmas Eve, and 13 of us got sick.

I give them Vitamin D,C a multi and a probiotic to keep them strong, but you just never know.

You wouldn't believe how many people said to me..."Don't you wish you had gotten the vaccine now?" I just say, no, because now I got to build my immune system naturally, the way nature intended. With no additives or preservatives. My entire immune system is stronger because I had the real thing.

We've never had the flu in our house. I don't even think I've EVER had it.

Kaite - your milk will last as long as Maddie keeps nursing! I only nurse Maya 2x/day (maybe 3 if she's really cranky and my 2.5yo maybe once or twice... sometimes none! It's there for the having if someone wants it

Thanks Amanda, I figure I'll just keep offering it to her. Something is better than nothing!

We haven't had it at all *knock on wood* If we don't get it this year, it will be the 2nd year without getting the flu.... Then again this is the second year that none of us have had any vaccinations at all during the flu/cold season.

so good that for the most part we are staying healthy!

MrsQ...GRR...I hate that "dont you wish" line....grrr....glad you have a great line in response. I use that one all the time when someone comments on catching a cold.."well at least their immunity is building" lol....I think people 'round here just think I'm a whacky lady! LOL

I have to chime in here.

I've never gotten the flu shot, DH refuses it also and we won't give it to any of our children.

Last year and this year I got the 24 hour-throwing up every 2 hour-flu. Last year I was breastfeeding and this year I was about 20 weeks pg.

I did not die!! It was not fun, but manageable for the short time it lasted.
I just had to post to show that you can get the flu (even pregnant) and everything can be OK (As most of us here already know).
