I am sure that this topic has come up before, so please forgive me

My older two have been vaccinated, however I am now better educated and will be delaying and following an alternative schedule for my 1 year old and bun in the oven, along with no more for my older ones.

So far, I have only been questioned on the Varicella booster, which they will not be getting. I did have a Titer(sp?) test done on my 8 year old and the results are that he is immune. The school nurse had an issue with this at first, but my pediatrician sent her a letter explaining what this test proves concerning immunity and she backed off.

Have any of you had to deal with your children going to school without vaccines? I know that every state is different, but any info would help. I'm in NY btw.

I think NY is all or nothing to enter school. I believe Cori is from NY, she's not on as much but maybe she'll see this and be more help than I am. I am dreading dealing with school.

Kaite...dont dread school...you are in MO...it will be easy to sign a waiver and be done with it

As for you MrsQ...I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of public school laws in other states but I DO know that NY is one of the harder ones...if you NEVER vaccinated then it's easy (enough) to sign a waiver I think...but if you once vaccinated they dont want you to stop....Not sure how to go about what you are trying to accomplish...I dont know if you can have their vaccine records pulled from the state's records and then just sign a waiver saying no vaccines ever? I'm not sure how it works... Sorry....maybe someone who DOES will check in...if not I'l lhave to do some searching and see if I can find a solid answer for you...or at least WHERE to find a solid answer!
