I have known this mama online, from a FB group of all things, for the last 4 years! We recently started hanging out now that we both have kids and we regularly meet with other local mamas for playdates. I found out both her kiddos are not vaccinated by fluke. My vet called and we were talking about my doggy getting neutered and how he had no vaccines etc. I reassured my friend that my dog was healthy and not rabid etc. She actually laughed and said "I'm not worried, my kids aren't vaccinated and they're healthy" My eyes must have come out of my head since I have never met anyone IRL that shares my philosophy other than my family and one very close friend. So yeah, this was a pleasant surprise

I confided in her that my kids were also unvaxed as well as my BFF's who was also at this playdate. We had a good chuckle that today the unvaccinated kids WELL outnumbered the vaxed ones heheheh.

very nice! a small handful of my friends do not vax. there is a local ped who does not vax any kids under 2, so i know there are a bunch of us out there.

I know several moms that are delaying/spacing vaccinations because we mutually know a mom who's child became autistic after recieving several vaccines at once. I've come across a few who don't vaccinate at all. I, myself am unvaccinated. My mother refused to get me vaccinated after my cousin got severe brain damage from the DTaP shot in the early 80's.

That's awesome. I wish I had some local mom friends who shared my parenting style. Martha and I get together occasionally, but we're about 2 1/2 hours apart, so definitely can't get together on a weekly basis. Very few people know we don't vaccinate, and most of them are my childless co-workers. Its so much easier to share your parenting style with people who don't have kids yet!

Yeah...Kaite and I are too far apart to meet regularly....and once Rogan's junk is done I plan to make a trip to see her for FUN (I go to her "town" weekly for Rogan's appts).....

Anyway...there are a few non vaxers in my homsechool coop but not all of them....there are a few others around here but not many in my group of friends...

so does it freak anyone else out when you find a friend has recently gotten vaxes for their child and your children are playing together...anyone else think "oh great what if it sheds" ? LOL

crud...meant to say YAY...I'm so happy for you that you have a few friends with whom you can relate and chat about it all with! That is fabulous!
