I'm having a root canal and I have to take antibiotics for an infection for 2 weeks. The dentist looked up the prefered antibiotic for this type of proceedure and said that it can cause diarrhea in the baby (I have an 8 month old). She also looked up other antibiotics (although they might not be as effective in treating this type of infection) and I didn't feel comfortable with those either. So, I will have to give him straight formula for 2 weeks (which he will drink). Is there anything I can give an 8 month old to boost his immune system?

have you looked into natural antibiotics? Like Garlic or Grapeseed extract? Or Coloidal Silver?

Anyway...I'd be giving vitamin D...Elderberry juice concentrate...and some probiotics probably.

We aren't to give a baby milk, berries, or peanut butter. We are to introduce new foods one at a time. But it's OK to inject several viruses, bacteria, aluminum, formaldehyde, phenoxyethanol, animal serum, mercury, squalene and more into an 8 week old? I don't think so.
In order to be healthy it is an unfortunate fact that people must be allowed the opportunity to be ill. I trust my body and those of my children to work correctly against the relatively benign diseases they vax for, and do not trust the ingredients in the vaccinations.
Our choice to not vax isn't based in ignorance, poverty, conspiracy theory and rumor. It's research, common sense, fact and evidence based..something the medical community has largely forgot about.

i would have no issue breastfeeding with the "maybe" of the baby having digestive issues. I would see how your LO responds to the antibiotics in your system and if there is a big issue, then reconsider breastfeeding. Also, can you pump and store the milk and maybe just give the baby that after you take the meds and then nurse? seems a little extreme to give formula and your supply will most likely dry up without nursing for 2 weeks, and you risk getting clogged ducts.

My son already has a lot of digestive issues, so I didn't want to add the possibility of diarrhea to the mix. I am pumping and dumping to keep my supply up.

How much vitamin D and elderberry juice concentrate would I give him? Can you recommend a brand of elderberry juice concentrate? I live in a small town and would probably have to order it online.

I was going to say Wyldewoods Cellars....but apparently the FDA decided to raid them for claiming health benefits....jackarses. Seriously. I.Cant.STAND.the.FDA!!!!!!! If it's not for big pharma it's not safe. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok....

if you join vitacost here ( https://www.vitacost.com/MyAccount/C...d=627000014298 ) You'll get 10.00 free (plus shipping 4.99)....And they have some for 13.98 for 16fl oz or 8.78...here (elderberry juice concentrate - Vitacost)

Previously I used the wyldewoods brand but this is what I will purchase when I'm out.

no problem!!!! It really is a great site. I got a referral from someone else and used it. If you join with the referral link (it's free to join) that I posted you get 10.00 and I get 10.00 and then you can share a referral link with YOUR friends and get 10.00 for everyone that joins! I've earned like 30.00 extra dollars there so far! Really cool, I think....
