Hi Everyone -I am 36 and have been posting to a few other boards and I feel like I am one of the only woman who is over 35 and pregnant for the 1st time. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

Me! I'm 38, pregnant for the first time as well...I'm 11 weeks and a few days, with a September due date, so I'm only a few weeks ahead of you it looks like!

Me too! I am 38 and successfully pregnant for the first time. DH and I tried for 5 years. I am actually going in for my c-section tomorrow! There are definitely a lot of young-uns on the due date clubs.

Ok, I feel so much better now to know that I am not alone! I went to my prenatal orientation yesterday and I think I was the oldest one there!

BTW - Mellochick - congratulations!

I'm here too! I'm 38 and 15 weeks pregnant, my first time being pregnant ever. I'll be 39 in April and the baby is due in August. Everything is going well so far!

This was a surprise pregnancy for me & my boyfriend. He's 39. We only met last summer so had not gotten around to talking about having kids together... but here we are. Now that we've gotten over most of the shock, we're excited and hoping that everything will go well!

good luck to you & nice to see you on the boards.

I'm 40 and just found out on Tuesday that I'm pregnant (don't have an official due date yet but we're guessing in October). Definitely a surprise to us considering DH was told by a doctor a few years ago that he was sterile! I don't even know what to DO with a baby. So much to learn in 9 months. We're overwhelmed a little but very excited!

So, you're definitely not alone.

Congrats to all of you!!

I am 43 and my wife 45. Been trying for quite some time 5plus years. Looks like this one will be the trick. Had ultrasound yesterday and everyone is doing okay.

38, probably about 5 weeks, 1st appointment next Fri..
what are thoughts on the artificial sweeteners in gum, etc..
I chew a lot of gum. I've already given caffeine the boot (painful) but don't want to give up gum.

I had my first at 37 and I'm hoping I'm pregnant with #2 (still in the 2 week wait). I'm 40 and will be 41 to deliver if I actually am pregnant. I agree that I feel like the old lady on many other boards. But that's why we're here, right?

Nice to hear all the support! I'm 37 and just shy of 7weeks with my first. I'll be 38 when the baby arrives. I had convinced myself I was okay without kids because I thought it just wasn't going to happen...now I'm trying not to freak out with excitement. Feeling pretty good so far and fingers crossed for a healthy baby in 2011.

I am 35 and this will be my first child. I will be 36 when baby arrives. Right now, I am very excited. It took me and my husband 5 years to conceive. Glad to be at this stage.
