This is my first pregnancy and I will be 35 when I deliver. I have never felt old before, until I got pregnant. The risk for Downs is so high and I'm very nervous.

I was 34 when I had DS last year, and will have just turned 36 when I deliver #2 in June. Try not to worry, while the risk is higer, it's not destined to happen. Don't let people scare you into thining it will happen to you. It's out of our hands, really, regardless of age. What will be will be...hang in there!

BTW- my mom had me at 39 which was a big deal back then & I'm fine

I also agree!! Don't worry about the what if's. Will you be having the NT scan that is done before 14 weeks? That will help ease your worries. I can't begin to tell you the amount of ladies that are considered 'advanced maternal age' that have gone on to have very healthy babies without any complications.

Hang in there and don't stress yourself!! Hugs!

I had my 3 boys all after age 36 and I'm expecting a healthy baby girl in about 17 days and I'm 42.

Hugs. Hang in there.
