I have been a member of JM since 2008 but haven't been posting actively since my last baby was born in March, 2009.

If the HPT I'm taking later this week proves what I think I'm feeling I'm going to be having one more. If so, it will really be a blessing because my husband is fairly stressed about the idea of my getting pregnant after 40 and my 40th birthday is in August.

I had to get off some dangerous medications and now we've agreed to TTC for the next few months until my birthday, starting with the current cycle. I have never had a bit of problem getting pregnant before so I think we might have caught it this cycle.

There are some familiar names/faces here and I'm happy to be reading and posting again.

Hi! My name is Missy and I have 3 boys ages 20, 18 and 16. It took us 2.5 years and 4 miscarriages but we are pregnant with our baby!

It is nice to meet you! How do you have 2 partners?

Missy,

Our kids are similar ages congratulations about the new addition!

I have a legal husband and he and I also have a female partner. We call it 'polyfidelity' meaning many loves (polyamorous) and faithful only to each other(fidelity) Polyfidelity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

We function as one family, basically one relationship. We run our household together, we manage money together, make decisions together and raise kids together.

It works really well because my husband and I both work outside the home and have a long commute. My wife is a SAHM mom (I've given birth to all the kids) and it's great for our toddler have the benefits of a mama at home all the time, a mommy who works, and a daddy too! My DW also takes care of running the teenagers around, does a lot to run our household. Now that I have this lifestyle I can't imagine raising kids any other way ("it takes a village").

Please feel free to ask any questions, I'm happy to answer them.

Hello Elisa,

I am new to the board myself and I (think) I am the oldest mom-to-be on the thread!! You can let your DH know that I have 4 years on ya (I'll be 44 next month) and all is going well with my TWINS. I am dealing with a hematoma, unfortunately, that has kept me on bed rest, but that is not at all related to my age.

Hope that all goes well with your HPT!!!

That sounds like a very interesting relationship. I personally could never share my DH with anyone but when I open my mind it sounds so great having another partner in the household to help it run more efficiently. Thank you for sharing your story with me, I am fascinated!

Our children are almost the same ages, funny! How are your older ones doing with you having more later on in life?

Right now my boys are indifferent about it all. They seem happy but they are not excited. Does that make sense? We will see how they end up feeling when the baby comes.
