My husband and I found out yesterday that we are expecting our first child together. We are both over the top with excitement. This is something we both wanted very much. He has a 6 year old son from a prior relationship and I have a 23 year old daughter. We have not told many people at this point. We are not sure how my daughter and son in law will take this as they are having a difficult time ttc. They knew we were trying and think we are nuts due to our age. I am hoping for some help from others as it has been a long time since Iwas last pregnant and things sure have changed...

Thanks for the encouragement. I had given up hopes for another child after I divorced years ago.
My new husband and I consider this our miracle baby. He wanted a baby all along but I was afraid to try as I did not want to deal with the disappointment. My mom asked me when we would have a baby. I told her I was too old. She said never. After she passed away from lung cancer earlier this year my husband brought the subject up again. I told him of the conversation with my mom and we decided to try for a few months. We figured if it was meant to be it would happen with my mom's blessing. We tried for 2 cycles and baby is on the way. I believe I am about 6 weeks.

I am 40 years old and pregnant with our 10th child (girl). Yes, a ton has changed. My last baby is now a 7 year old son. And already a ton has changed!!! The baby gear looks like stuff from the future. LOL I like pink, satin, and ribbons for girls. But you wont find that in any of the baby stores. LOL
So welcome!! I also have 2 beautiful grandchildren and my children's ages are 24-7 years....

Congrats for having a new baby! Since you are 47 now and pregnant I think you must be free from stress and avoid too much strenuous activities.

Sad to say, but I miscarried last month. My ob/gyn has given my husband and me the ok to try again. I asked if my age conributed to this but he told me that people of all ages miscarry everyday. Hoping for a good outcome this time around.

Wanted to say how sorry Iam that your lost your miracle. Dont give up hope, I had 4 children early on and then in my second marriage at age 38, I lost 3 in a row, and went on to have 2 healthy little girls at 40 and 41, and now pregnant with my 7th (son)turning 42 in Dec. and doing very well. Three loss's followed by 3 baby's. It does and can happen!

So extremely sorry for your loss. Your ob/gyn is totally right about it being at all ages - I miscarried at 34 and 35, 'random occurrences' (both genetic, unrelated).

Warmest wishes for the next pregnancy to come soon and stick well!
