My name is Becky, DH is Adam and I'm pregnant with our first. I'm 37 now and should be 38 when this baby comes. I say should be because my due date is December 5 and my birthday is December 1!
We had two miscarriages last year, at 11 and 9 weeks, but, after 14 weeks of supplemental progesterone, this one seems to be thriving! I'm 17 weeks today and we have our anatomy/gender scan in 3 weeks. It's so hard to believe that this is really happening sometimes...
I worked with an OB to do some testing after the second miscarriage and everything showed up normal. She gave me the progesterone and released me as "low risk" back to my midwife. We're planning to deliver at our midwife's birth center and I'm hoping for an unmedicated water birth. My midwife is phenomenal and when I asked her about my "advanced" age, she told me that thinking is gradually shifting and that a real jump in numbers doesn't happen until you get into the 40's.
So there's a little about me... just thought I'd join in here if you all don't mind.
