Hi everyone. I'm really excited to be pregnant for the first time at 40 (no IVF, all natural =), but admit I'm a bit surprised at how different my body feels already at 7 weeks. I feel nauseated about 80% of the time, any time of day, but haven't actually puked. I just feel like I want to. Ginger tea helps somewhat. The main thing I'm noticing is a heightened sense of smell. Scents that were once pleasing to me now repulse me, namely pine and rosemary. Driving me crazy! Also, mints make me want to vomit (and minty toothpaste). Weird! Otherwise I feel pretty good, not too tired this week, just a bit bloated. I belch a lot and seem to have a lot more gas. Anybody else affected by weird taste/smell aversions? I'm traveling for the next few weeks and trying to stay relaxed and hydrated. Good luck to you all!
I have much of those same symptoms. I have major food aversions, which stinks because that means I'm not eating and therefore I'm always so hungry. But the thought of food makes me want to vomit. I am very tired all the time, and have a heightened sense of smell. All these were symptoms with my first pregnancy too, a year ago. This time I'm also having nausea, which I didn't have the first time around - oh so fun!

Thanks for the support, ladies! I had a miscarriage at only 5 weeks back in December, but I feel so much different this time around. Spoke to a bunch of other GFs who had same experience and even my OBG said not to worry, it doesn't mean anything. So... Just trying to protect the little guy/gal as best I can! Will be good to get home and do some serious "nesting."
