I have a question.... What are the chances of getting pregnant by having sex 5/6 days prior to ovulation? My husband and i decided to take a chance a have unprotected sex 5/6 days prior to ovulation.. i ovulated on day 14 (no charting i just can feel it always can tell). And the last few days i have felt like my period is coming... lower back ache etc. It could be PMS? im not due for another 10 days for my period.

Anytime you have unprotected sex you run the risk of becoming pregnant!

Good point!!! lol.. I guess we need to decide if we are going to commit to having another baby! because sooner or later it will be decided for us.

LOL Yep it will. I suggest charting at the very least so that you can be sure that you are ovulating when you think you are. I know for a fact that I ovulate on day 12 every month because I chart it but OPK's always say my fertile day is the 14th day. When we were trying and went by day 14 (as per the OPK's I was taking,) and we missed it every time. The first month we decided to listen to my body (via the charting) we nailed it Best of luck with whatever you decide!

It's definitely possible to get pregnant 5/6 days before you O, though not as likely as if you'd DTD a day or two before.

This pregnancy was an oops for us. We were using the ol' reliable withdrawal method (lol), and, well... there you go. Hubby and I had kind of decided to stop having kids--he'd even had his initial appointment to get snipped--but I guess God had other plans for us.

writergurrl how many kids do you have? We do the "withdrawl method too" we have been getting a little more daring lol... i think thats because we both want 1 more but are afraid to commit to it! LOL!

You've got a very high chance of getting preg!-- perhaps, 90%; 10% is for the chance of unexpected irregular ovulation.

Yup im regular. I guess if im not and sad about it, then it means its time for us to actually try!!! lol... I have been going back and forth about a #4 and im finally feeling ready!
