I am almost 9 weeks pregnant with our 3rd. Had my 1st appointment last week with ultrasound and we saw the beautiful beating heartbeat! (I had a missed miscarriage and had to have a D&E in November so this babes heartbeat was a beautiful thing to see!).

My doctor talked about the Fetal DNA blood test I would get after 10 weeks. I have read about it last year and thought it was a great test but now I'm nervous about it and I don't know why.
Maybe I'm nervous b/c I'll be 40 in 2 months.
Maybe I'm nervous b/c a friend who is 35 and 16 wks had an abnormal result from her blood test yet her CSV test came back normal and now they're not sure what's going on.
Maybe I'm just nervous b/c I want this baby so badly and want everything to be ok with a "normal" blood test result.
Maybe I'm nervous b/c my youngest boy was born with an undiagnosed heart condition and had to have open heart surgery at a week old.
Maybe I'm nervous simply because I want everything to be good.

I know it's no use worrying b/c I cannot change the results yet I worry all the same and I think the prominent reason is I'll be 40 soon and we already suffered a loss so I fear my eggs weren't the "best". crazy I know but my fear nonetheless.

Anyone else nervous about the Fetal DNA blood test?
For those of you that had it done, were you worried before, how many weeks were you when you had it done, how did it go, how soon did you get your results back?

Thanks!!

I had the CVS test done early on (I was 42 by the way) and we got the results in I think 10 days. Results were normal so I declined further testing they recommended. It's impossible not to worry about your baby IMO no matter you age. Hang in there.

I had marternity21 test done with last two babys, I was 41 and 42 with them, they were both perfect, and had results in less than 1business week! Its going to be fine mama, take deep breaths. Did you do the NT scan as well? I had done both, this way I knew immediately if anything "looked" off, those were good too!

Thanks momof8! Did you do the NT scan first or the MartniT21 blood test? I meet with my ob on Monday to go over history and testing so I'm not sure what they may want to schedule first.

hi there, I am 39 and currently 18 weeks along just a bit ahead of you. I had the panorama blood test done which didnt take even the second time did not work. (not enough baby DNA in my blood) We had our nt scan done at 12 weeks which looked fine (1.2) Since that was not enough for me we decided to go for the amnio (I was too far long meanwhile for the CVS) Just got my fish?? results and so far everything looks good. Do you have a history with your previous babies?? I think when they call us advanced maternal age that just freaks everybody out. I feel guilty for being pregnant at this horrible old age NOT!!! Do not worry too much. Everything will be fine. They most likely will do an nt scan first then bloodtests...... good luck and keep us updated
