Hello ~ My name is Lisa and I'll be 38 next week. I'm 4 w 4 days pregnant with my 3rd pregnancy and hopefully 1st child.

I have a question - has anyone experienced a sustained, pressure-like pain in their lower right quadrant during pregnancy? It's been there off and on for 2 weeks but lately it's gotten worse. In my second pregnancy I felt a lot of cramping in my abdomen, kind of like period cramps but also not, but this feels different and is in a different place. I'm a little worried it's appendicitis or an ectopic pregnancy..? Or is this normal?

Hi Lisa!! Welcome and congratulations!!!
My name is Kim, I am 35 (36 when baby comes)....this is my 1st pregnancy....so it's all really new to me!!

I have had AF like cramps (abdomen and especially in my back!!!) for most of the last 3 weeks....they are starting to subside some, but get really bad when the (TMI ahead, sorry) constipation is bad. Today and yesterday I have had more pressure kind of pain in my lower right quadrant (like I think you are describing). It reminds me alot of the ovulation pain I would feel.... I am not worrying too much about it as there is no spotting going along with it and it isn't unbearable, just kind of annoying. I don't think it is high enough or painful enough for appendicitis. As far as symptoms with an ectopic preg, I truly hadn't thought of that. I would say call and ask your doc if you are really worried. It's what he is there for!

Hi Lisa and welcome

Congrats on the good news!

You will find that you will have all kinds of aches and pains during the next few months. If you are concerned call your doctor for reassurance. You may be experiencing some loosening of your round ligaments (located on the lower sides of you abdomen- where your ovaries are). It has been 13 yrs since my last baby and I too had some concerns. If you don't have "double-over" type pain or bleeding, you are fairly safe. Don't hesitate to call your doctors office though, that is what they are there for.

Welcome again!!

Hi and Welcome! It is normal to have AF like aches and cramps. Also often when you are first pregnant you can get a cyst on the ovary that you ovulated off of. I have with almost every pregnancy. This can cause cramps. If it gets to much call your DR. It is better to have things check out.

Again Welcome!!!
